The PADI Deep Diver eLearning will teach you the learn the techniques and considerations for planning and successfully executing deeper dives before your training dives.

Along with reviewing reasons for deep diving and the importance of knowing your personal limits, you'll learn about:
- Specialized deep diving equipment.
- Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures
- Safety considerations and buoyancy control
- Managing your gas supply and dealing with gas narcosis..
The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification - ask your instructor about earning credit. You may be able to get college credit for the Deep Diver course - ask your instructor.
Prerequisites & Requirements
- Age Requirement 15 years or older
- Course Prerequisites PADI Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification)
- Time Commitment Approximately 2-4 hours
What equipment will I need?
You'll need a dive computer along with the rest of your basic scuba equipment. A dive light and slate are also recommended. Your PADI Instructor or local">https://locator.padi.com">local dive center staff may suggest other gear appropriate for local deep diving.

Start learning now with PADI's home-study materials - Deep Diver eLearning. Read and watch video about deep diving, then interact with knowledge checks in preparation for meeting with your PADI Instructor to schedule your four deep dives. Stop by your local PADI Dive Center or Resort to enroll in the course and speak with your instructor if you have any questions about the course content.
