Exploration, Excitement, Experiences. They're what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you don't have to be “advanced” to take it it's designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course.
What will I do?
The PADI Advanced Open Water course consists of 5 adventure dives. These dives are designed to develop a diver's ability by introducing them to a number of exciting different diving experiences. The aim of the program is to have loads of fun underwater while learning new skills which will be used during many of your future dives. The PADI Advanced Open Water must include both the Deep Dive* and the Navigation Dives*.
Each of the Adventure dives completed during the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver program can be counted as the first dive of each corresponding PADI Specialty. For example, if you choose to complete the PADI Dry Suit Adventure dive during the course, you will only need to complete one more training dive to have earned yourself the PADI Dry Suit Specialty Certification. You can try your hand at digital underwater photography, wreck diving, diving with underwater scooters, peak performance buoyancy and much more.
What scuba gear will I use?
You use all the basic scuba gear including your underwater compass. Depending on which three adventure dives you pick, you may also try out underwater photography equipment, a dive light, a dry suit, lift bags, a dive flag/float or other speciality gear.

Your PADI's Adventures in Diving Manual and DVD provide information on more than 16 types of speciality diving. You'll use them as a guidebook to improve your diving skills and prepare for new experiences and adventures. The course fee includes your Adventures in Diving manual, slate, equipment hire and certification fee.
